about the artist

Quailfied in 2002 with a Fine Art hons degree from Staffordshire University, England. Bel has been living and working in Edinburgh. Her practice focuses on her interest in using a restrictive pallet of colours and bold geometric shapes. Metallic paints are used to create light and to allow the audience to witness changes made by the differing light throughout the day. Softer textural backgrounds have also been used. Her paper works are largely experimental and are made up of her need to further explore mixed media, detail and surfaces. However, these too, have become finished pieces in their own right.
